Notes:
-It can be beneficial to look through entire pattern before starting.
-The pattern is written in standard US terminology and written working right-handed
- 2sc = increase stitch, if inc is easier for you to follow than 2sc you can make notes throughout the pattern before starting.
-slst to join, is a slst that is pulled tight so it disappears, it is more of a knot than a stitch
-after making the base you can use your spray starch before adding your fabric paint to give a little more stiffness to your earring.
Earing Base:
Brown – 4 yards
1.80mm

Note: changing from Rows to a Rnd for instruction 13. This Rnd will be working around the jewelry wire after the jewelry if formed around the shape you just made (there is a graphic in the pdf pattern on ravelry and in the e-pattern on ribblr for the wire instructions, the YouTube video also shows how this is done). using a 7"piece of 26 gauge, Fold in half and twist a ⅛” to ¼” loop in center, form around the shape just made.
you will sc in side bars around the wire, and at each end stitch you will sc, picot, sc (Row 1 and Row 12).
Row 13: ch 1, turn, sc 12, *sc-picot-sc*, sc 12, *sc-picot-sc*, slst in 1st sc to join (28 + 2picot)
Use puff paint to draw the string on the football, if using starch to add firmness to your football do that before painting and make sure the spray has dried completely before applying the paint.
Attach the earring hook to the loop of the wire
You now have a football earring!
